VCF Ruritan Community Involvement:
  • Veteran and Troop Support - We provide a wreath for the Veteran's Day ceremony.  We support the Veteran's Administration home and support our troops in Iraq by providing telephone cards and emergency need bags for the wounded
  • Local Scout Support - We sponsor Boy Scout Troop #141 and provide them with a meeting place.  We support the scouts' Pinewood Derby, held each year here on our premises and furnish awards for the event.
  • Traumatized children support - We provide Ruritan "Rudy" Bears to local police and fire companies to give to children affected by traumatic experiences.
  • Medical Equipment - We loan medical equipment (hospital beds, wheel chairs, walkers, etc) to those in need
  • Fire Companies - We support the Felton Fire Company
  • Camp Lenape - We support Camp Lenape, a Cerebral Palsy organization.
  • Scholarships - We give four $1,000 Scholarships each year to Seniors attending college, as well as Federal Savings Bonds to the four top graduating seniors at Lake Forest High School
  • Ruritan National - We give $2.00 per member annually to the Ruritan National Foundation for Double Your Dollars Scholarships.
  • Building Rental - We provide a place for the community to meet socially for parties and meetings.

    Scheduled meetings:
  • Board Meeting (Officers and Committee Chairs), 3rd Monday of each month, 7 PM
  • Business Meeting (All members), 4th Wednesday of each month, 7 PM
  • Monthly breakfast (open to the public), 3rd Sunday of each month, 8-10:30 AM. $6 per person,  Breakfast includes biscuits, scrambled eggs, Homefries, scrapple, regular and sage sausage, pancakes, French Toast, sausage gravy, chipped beef gravy, fruit, coffee, juice, milk.  A better deal cannot be found!
